Japanese-born South Australian artist and 2023 Guildhouse Fellow, Kyoko Hashimoto, has used microscopes at the Microscopy Australia facility at the University of South Australia to capture petrographic structure of rocks from her garden and used pigments ground from those rocks to create abstract artworks based on those structures.
