Links with Singapore

The AMMRF has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nanyang Technological University, a top research-intensive university in Singapore. We have entered into this mutually beneficial alliance in the operation of national infrastructure to support research excellence in the key areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

The AMMRF and NTU will collaborate to provide best practice in user access and experience, training, operation and management of these significant national facilities. We will identify and create and develop relevant training programs in microscopy and microanalysis and provide an access pathway for researchers to use both facilities. This will help to diversify the portfolio of research projects supported by the facilities through the provision of complimentary and correlative characterisation techniques thereby advancing our understanding of the structure of materials at the nanoscale.

Opportunities to develop joint research programs in the areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology, materials science & materials engineering, advanced characterisation techniques and instrumentation will be encouraged and facilitated by these links. Exchange visits will provide development opportunities for the technical and academic staff of both facilities.
