Held between International Data Week and eResearch Australasia, this free hybrid event brings together the global imaging community to lay the foundation for seamless sharing, integration, and reuse of biological and preclinical imaging data across disciplines, platforms, and borders.
As part of the broader effort to establish a coordinated Global Image Data Ecosystem (GIDE), the event will focus on developing shared recommendations for metadata standards and ontologies. Through collaborative workshops and discussions, participants will address critical challenges in interoperability and standardisation to enable sustainable, cross-community solutions.
This year’s theme, “Imaging Data Ecosystem: Towards Shared Solutions,” underscores the collective commitment to harmonising metadata, aligning ontologies, and ensuring the long-term stewardship of imaging data.
Participation is free, but registration is required. Visit the event page here.
This event is made possible by AARNet and QCIF.
This event is scheduled between International Data Week 2025 (13–16 October) and eResearch Australasia 2025 (20–24 October), offering a unique opportunity to engage with broader research data and infrastructure communities while in Brisbane.
Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, The Global Image Data Ecosystem (GIDE) connects different biological and preclinical image data resources across the globe to allow metadata and data sharing. The foundingGIDE project is laying the foundations for GIDE by bringing together image data resource owners and research infrastructures from Europe, Australia and Japan to develop the basis of interoperable image data repositories.
