Microscopy Australia at the Asia Pacific Microscopy Congress (APMC13)

The Microscopy Australia team is excited to see you at APMC, stop by our joint booth (72–73) with Global BioImaging.

Visit us to find out how we can help you access advanced microscopy and microanalysis facilities around the country. You’ll also be able to check out MyScope, our free online microscopy training tool. If you need a break, swing by and try your hand at one of our microscopy jigsaw puzzles!

Don’t miss Stories & Structures – New Connections, our exhibition that explores the rich visual parallels between Indigenous Australian artworks and microscopic structures, which will be on display in the exhibition area. Be sure to take some time to experience it in person!

We’ll also be hosting an Image Competition, see below for more details. Additionally, we are proud to have a strong representation in the sessions and talks.

IMAGE COMPETITION

We hope that delegates will bring some of their best recent images to enter – there are gift cards to be won! As this is a ‘microscopy’ congress, we want to see really excellent micrographs/reconstructions, not artworks. However, well composed and well adjusted images are well received. Colour-enhanced images are acceptable if the colour adds clarity to the content. 

To enter:

• Bring a micrograph or reconstruction printed on A4 paper in whatever orientation is most suitable for your image, please try and make the image fill the page.
• Put a caption and scale bar on the front, we want to know what it is and what is interesting about it
• Put your name and contact email on the back for judging anonymity
• Bring them to our booth (numbers 72-73) and put them up on the wall
• You can enter as many images as you like

Please submit your entries by the end of the day on Wednesday. People’s choice voting will start on Thursday morning. There will also be a judge’s choice.

Winners will be announced during the closing remarks on Friday, 4:00PM – 4:15PM, Great Hall 1&2.

Winners from the 2024 competition will also be announced soon via email.
