The AMMRF and Euro-BioImaging renewed their formal Collaboration Framework recently in Heidelberg, Germany. EBI is a research infrastructure project on the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) Roadmap. It aims to be a distributed research infrastructure in a similar way to the AMMRF, providing open user access to a range of imaging technologies for life scientists in Europe and beyond (www.eurobioimaging.eu).
Under the Framework, the AMMRF and EBI cooperate in the establishment and operation of world-class collaborative research infrastructure in the area of microscopy and imaging for biological and medical sciences. Outcomes of the cooperation to date include sharing of information about best practice in facility operation, training, outreach and management; the 1st AMMRF-EBI Strategic Planning Meeting; participation in the independent evaluation panel for the EBI 1st open call for nodes; and support for a specialist master class in correlative light and electron microscopy held in Sydney, June 2013.
